As I write this blog post, it is the first day of Gemini season, and I am feeling the energy. Gemini is all about communication. Gemini shares a ruling planet with Virgo. Mercury is all about messages and communication. Gemini and Virgo, can not get enough knowledge. They have to keep learning and sharing what they learn. Virgo energy loves learning and sharing more analytical info, where Gemini loves sharing and learning more intuitive and creative info. Gemini’s tend to live in their head, to be chatterboxes and fidgety

The primary organ system for Gemini is the respiratory system. This can be things like hay fever, asthma, and bronchitis, So this is a great time to take care of your respiratory system. With it being spring this is a great time to manage your hayfever. If you are a smoker, quit smoking. Slowly get into cardio to build lung stamina. Get rid of harsh chemicals in your house and go with more green cleaning products. Kick perfumes to the curb and try essential oils. Use expectorant herbs.

The nervous system also plays a huge role in Gemini, especially anxiety and insomnia. Gemini and the planet Mercury are all about the element air. This airy energy can make it difficult to feel grounded. So this is a great time for taking care of your nervous system. Eat a well-balanced with little to no processed food diet, to help strengthen the nervous system. Meditate, exercise, and get plenty of nutrients. Get outside and get some fresh air and some sun. Vitamin D is very important when it comes to the nervous system. Bring nervine and adaptogen herbs into your life.

With the tissue state, using demulcent herbs for dryness and astringent for the atrophy will help.

Foods that will be helpful during the Gemini season are root vegetables to help you keep grounded. For example beets, carrots, turnips, onion, and garlic. Omega 3 fatty acid is really good for the brain. Flaxseed, nuts (especially walnuts), fish, and avocado are a few examples.

Gemini Herbs: Clover, Elecampane, Fennel, Flaxseed, Lavender, Mint, Parsley, and Peppermint.

Remedy Gemini Herbs: Mullein, Yerba Santa, Elecampane, Elderflower, Marshmallow Leaf, Skullcap, California Poppy, Lavender, Holy Basil, Lemon Balm, and Oat Straw.
